Google Vs Zoho

Posted by viralblogger on October 5, 2007

Google has been round and has been kicking some real hard butts.

Zoho is the new kid in the block and what does he do – KICK ASS OF GOOGLE!

This is a great case study for the neo-MBAs(s).

Zoho comes from nowhere and starts running circles around all the other major players. They are coming up with a new release almost every other week! Can you believe that! Every other freaking week! Google does not do that. It has been sitting on its laurels and trying to aquire companies to make its own suite. This is a good strategy when you have tons in the bank.

  • The one thing that rankles me is Google’s seemingly-laggardness in the scene.

Google is establishing itself as a non-search entity too and is acquiring all the companies that are worth a shout. Now, the question is how does Google really handle the mixture of so many cultures and ideas. Surely it must be tough. Egos are bound to clash and probably some of the smarties would have already left. It might be one of the reasons that we do not see anything stable coming out of these buy-outs. Google has yet to come up with the re-engineered version of Writely. This deal was signed more than a year ago.

  • Zoho in the meantime has come out with a plethora of products. Okay, they are not commercial grade yet but then neither are they beta stage. They are certainly way ahead of what Google has.
  • The other smart thing Zoho is doing is that it is integrating with almost all the big players like Facebook and iPhone, MS Outlook and MS Office.
  • They have come up with something new called Zoho DB and Reports recently. Man, this product is cool! You can import any xls file you want, and it will give you trend-analysis. It is a threat to MS-Access!

ZohoCRM : A Web2.0 CRM

Posted by viralblogger on September 25, 2007

ZohoCRM is a Web2.0 crm system. It is one of the arms of the Zoho suite of products and is sturdy.

Zoho CRM and Zoho Projects are the ones which make money in the Zoho suite. The rest of these are free for now.

Zoho CRM will be a darn good competition to SalesForce if it integrates with its other suite-contemporaries like Zoho

Sheet, Zoho Writer, etc. It is very much possible to do that but it will integrate some back-end effort. The UI flow

should also be easy to understand. Once that concoction is ready, then SalesForce has a match on.
